Shannon Alpha & Beta Program Participant Agreement

Applies for as long as your account is enrolled in the Shannon Alpha or Beta program (“the program”)

Thank you for being one of Shannon's first users. Your feedback is shaping what Shannon becomes, and we want to be completely transparent about how this early testing period works.

Shannon is in early development. It may behave unexpectedly, produce incorrect outputs, or fail to respond appropriately to sensitive situations. The limitations described in the Terms of Service — including that Shannon is not a crisis or emergency service and is not a substitute for professional advice — apply fully during the testing period and these risks may be heightened.

By joining the Shannon Alpha or Beta Program, you understand and consent to the following:

1. The Shannon team may review your usage during the program.

We may review your usage, including how Shannon interacts with your connected services and your usage patterns. When investigating a specific bug, unexpected behavior, or user-reported issue, we may also review your conversations with Shannon. We do not do this as routine monitoring.

To be clear: we look at how Shannon interacts with your connected services (what Shannon read, what Shannon summarized, what Shannon did). We do not read the underlying emails, messages, or calendar content themselves.

There are two exceptions.

First, we will review your setup conversations in full — the conversations where you and Shannon first build a picture of your life, and the follow-up conversations where you tell Shannon what to change about it. Understanding how new users experience Shannon's first days is critical to building it well, and these are the only conversations we may review other than for debugging.

Second, when you connect a service, Shannon looks back over your recent history there to learn about you — the people who matter, the commitments you keep, the shape of your week. What Shannon takes from that is visible to the team in the same way the rest of Shannon's activity is: we may see that Shannon recorded someone as your sister, or noticed a standing Tuesday meeting. We do not read the underlying messages or calendar entries themselves.

What this section describes is the most we may do, not what we do every day. As the program grows, we expect to review less rather than more.

We do this to:

• Understand how people actually use Shannon
• Identify bugs and unexpected behavior
• Learn what's working and what isn't
• Improve Shannon's responses and features

Research during the program. We may ask you to complete surveys and to join interviews about your experience. You can decline any individual survey or interview. Your survey answers are linked to your account, so we can read them alongside how you actually use Shannon. Interviews may be recorded — we will ask you at the start of each one, and you can decline recording or stop it at any point. Survey answers, interview notes and interview recordings are seen only by the Shannon team and are never quoted or published without your explicit permission. We use them to improve Shannon, and we may share what we learn outside the team — for example with investors or partners — but only as aggregated findings that cannot identify you.

2. This access is limited and controlled.

• Only the Shannon team can access your data. "The Shannon team" means Cluesmith LLC personnel and contractors who are bound by written confidentiality obligations to Cluesmith LLC.
• Everyone with access is bound by confidentiality agreements.
• We will never share your personal data outside the team.
• We will never publish your data or use it in marketing without your explicit permission.

3. This access is temporary.

When your account leaves the Alpha or Beta program, this additional access ends. Your account will transition to Shannon's standard Privacy Policy, under which the team does not have routine access to your personal data.

Your account leaves the program when you withdraw, when we transition you out — which we may do at any time, including when the program ends for all participants — or when we transition inactive accounts out of the program.

Except where you withdraw yourself, we will notify you at least 7 days before your account leaves the program and transitions to standard terms.

4. You can leave at any time.

If you want to withdraw from the program:

• Your data will be deleted within 30 days unless you choose to keep your account for the general launch. Interview notes and recordings are deleted within 30 days whether or not you keep your account. We will stop all team access to your data immediately. If you choose to keep your account for general launch, your data remains but is governed solely by the standard Privacy Policy.

5. What we will never do

Even during the program, we will never:

• Sell your data to anyone
• Share your data with anyone outside the Shannon team
• Use your data to train AI models without your explicit consent
• Send emails or messages from your accounts without your approval (either per-action or under a standing permission you've granted)
• Access services you haven't connected

6. What we ask of you:

• Use Shannon naturally. We know it's hard to use something naturally when you know it's being reviewed. We're asking you to try, because the more realistic your usage, the better Shannon becomes.
• Tell us when something is broken, confusing, or annoying.
• Be honest in your feedback — it directly shapes the product.
• Let us know if anything feels like a privacy concern.
• Take part in surveys and interviews when you can.

7. Your data during the program:

Voice calls, when you talk to Shannon instead of typing	Your call audio streams through our realtime voice provider (LiveKit) to be turned into text, and Shannon's reply is turned back into speech. Calls are not recorded and the audio is not stored — by us or by LiveKit. Session recording is switched off, so there is no call audio for anyone to play back. What persists is the text transcript, treated exactly like your typed conversations above.	Audio: not retained at all. Transcript: when you leave the program.

If we become aware of any unauthorized access to your data during the program, we will notify you within 72 hours.

8. After the program

Alpha and beta testers keep their data and their account. When Shannon moves to paid, you'll know well in advance.

9. Consent

By creating an account while the Alpha or Beta program is running, you confirm that you have read and agree to this Alpha & Beta Participant Agreement, the Shannon Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. While your account is enrolled, this agreement controls where it conflicts with the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy. When your account leaves the program, this agreement no longer applies, and your account is governed solely by the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
